This week in dresses: winter whites and fairytale glamour

Timeless style dominated the fashion headlines this week as stars around the globe bedazzled in fairytale creations reminiscent of the great Hollywood icons. Film premiers, red carpets and the start of the seasonal charity fundraisers had celebs oozing glamorous style – here's our pick of the week's best dressed females on the planet.

Winter Whites

At home in London, the Sybarite dinner at Kensington Palace Orangery saw a glittering array of celebs turn out. Model Amber Le Bon certainly stood out in an ankle-skimming sheer creation from Marios Schwab, adding matching metallic heels and clutch for a feminine yet on trend look. And whilst Amber went girly, model Poppy Delevingne's plunging neckline caused temperatures to rise at the Save the Children Secret Winter Gala in London Town on Wednesday. The shimmering silk dress featured a racy plunging neckline and had a low-back but was cleverly balanced out by its long hemline for a sultry yet elegant look, perfect for a black tie ball. celebs 2 Meanwhile, Lucy Mecklenburgh also decided to take a fashion leap and wear winter white for the launch of her new perfume "wings” at The Dorchester Hotel in London and opted for a cute feather hemmed mini dress. And definitely among the most eye-catching , Jennifer Lawrence wore Dior (who else?!) looking like a real life princess at The Hunger Games Premier, Mockingjay Part 1, in Los Angeles this week. Wearing barely there Aquazzura heels, the mid-length fit and flare was breath-taking in its metallic simplicity; Jennifer looked positively show-stopping, just like her lead character Katniss Everdeen.

Dark Desire

Simple chic was the theme for Scarlett Johansson as she turned up to a charity fundraiser wearing a timeless Proenza Schouler dress. Accessorizing with just simple courts and a clutch, the blonde bombshell oozed sophisticated style proving that you don't have to wear sparkle to stand out in a crowd. Fashionista Victoria Beckham followed the same trend and wore a slinky black gown with plunging neckline and flared skirt for her appearance at the global gift gala in London on Monday. celebs 3 And let's not miss the glowing duchess, Kate proves you can still look fantastic and sport a growing bump at an awards ceremony at Kensington Palace. She greeted guests of mental charity Place2Be in an elegant skirt-and-top and finished off her polished look with simple courts for a pretty look. Shop black dresses here.

Keira's Fairytale Fantasy

White was a winter wonder this week for many of our favourite celebrities, and Kiera Knightley was even seen four times in different pale dresses. To start off her wonderful white week she wore a Giambattista Vali SS15 collection dress (left) to the Hollywood Film Awards in LA and paired her beautiful applique and white lace dress with bold pearl earrings and dainty silver sandals. Pulling off a demure look she wore a feminine Holly Fulton white shift dress (second from left below) to a BAFTA event in New York on Monday; the floaty floral shift hinting at the SS15 season ahead. keira 2 On the same day, Kiera was also spotted wearing a fun and flirty Michael Van der Ham 1950's style dress (below right) for her Imitation Game film promo at the Good Morning America Studios in New York. And Kiera looks jaw-dropping on a late night TV talk show mid-week in an Erdem broderie layered number (second right) from his 2015 collection. She teamed it with statement pink courts adding a quirky touch, with the high neckline flattering her slender frame perfectly.
