Here at Little Black Dress we are proud supporters of Refuge, a women and children's domestic violence charity. We do this by donating £1 for every Little Black Dress and Alesha Dixon dress sold to you. But as it's #GivingTuesday, we've decided to increase our donation from £1 per dress, to a huge £5!

Refuge

This year so far we've managed to raise ¬£10,000 to support Refuge and all the wonderful work they do, providing an essential escape route for women and children, and helping to save and transform their lives. The ¬£10,000 you helped raise is the equivalent of 192 nights of safety for people escaping violence. We would like to give a huge "Thank you!" to all of our customers for helping us support such a great charity. Refuge opened the world's first safe house in 1971 and now supports nearly 4,000 women and children escaping domestic violence on any given day. The team helps give women and children practical and emotional support, and helps them to begin rebuilding their lives, free from fear. They also have a long list of patrons and celebrity supporters, including our very own designer and board member, Alesha Dixon! Mark, our CEO said: "Refuge's work focuses on empowering women and building self-esteem, a cause that compliments the Little Black Dress ethos perfectly. We are committed to building a brand that 'gives something back' rather than one that simply sells dresses. At the heart of our brand ethos is our mission to "give confidence to all women" so the partnership is a perfect fit.”

Giving Tuesday

So, on Giving Tuesday (a day to "do good stuff for charity" straight after the hectic spending of Black Friday and Cyber Monday) if you decide to purchase one of our LBD or Alesha Dixon dresses we'll donate £5 to Refuge on your behalf! Last year,Giving Tuesday raised £6,000 a minute for UK charities and broke the world record for the most amount of money donated online in 24 hours, so don't forget to check them out too! You can also donate to Refuge online, buy a Refuge parcel to help the women and children Refuge supports, or you could even gift something from Refuge's Christmas Gift List!
