Little Black Dress Q&A with Virgos Lounge

Team LBD caught up with the Head of Brand Development at Virgos Lounge, Promise Armstrong, to get an insight into the heavily vintage inspired yet contemporary brand, we talk about how it all started, the inspiration behind their fabulous High Summer Collection, how they'd love Beyoncé to wear one of their pieces and what's in store for them for the new season. Day-to-day I deal with everything to do with the look and functionality of the website, from liaising with our PR agency to organising photo shoots for our collections and street style shoots for our social media platforms. The Virgos Lounge brand started off with two vintage loving sisters who saw a niche in the market. At the beginning they sold customised vintage pieces which led to establishing the Virgos Lounge brand, which offers vintage inspired fashion with a modern twist. The Virgos Lounge name was created because the three girls who started the company all shared the same Virgo star sign. The brands aesthetic is based on their love for vintage clothing. Creating unique statement pieces for the modern woman by combining contemporary silhouettes, trends and colours with classic vintage styles. In three words Virgos Lounge is…statement, unique and experimental. For high summer the inspiration was super bright colours with a sexy feel. Shoulder-baring bandeau style dresses, midriff-baring crop tops and thigh-high slits, to give every girl her own Angelina moment. We source vintage pieces for inspiration and look to the catwalks to add our modern touches to the collections.
