The SS16 Trend Preview

Blog We're looking ahead to the new season and to all of the exciting trends that are just waiting to be worn, our very own Little Black Dress collection excitedly anticipating its big debut along with the eagerly awaited collection by Alesha Dixon – and we promise it's worth the wait! So to give you a little glimpse at what trends are to come we've compiled a little trend preview for you… Sun SHINE SHINE TREND The festive period is over so it's time to stash away the sequins, right? Wrong. Embellished dresses are the key dress of the season. Let heavy embellishments and glittering fabrics shimmer in the heat of summer like those seen at Lanvin, Cavalli and Pucci. Short dresses and daring thigh-splits act as ventilation on hot evenings. Everyday Boudoir BOUDOIR TREND Sleepwear inspired silhouettes are taken out of their comfort zone for SS16 with out-and-about underwear set to have a massive fashion moment. From Celine and Alexander Wang to Victoria Beckham and Calvin Klein, lace trimmed silk slip dresses and pyjama separates drifted down the runways and made for the chicest evening looks. Fanciful Details FANCIFUL TREND Details go fun and fancy for SS16 (FUNciful?!), think faintly Spanish inspired frills and romantic ruffles to cascading concertina pleats and slinky silk fringing. Dresses with all manner of frivolous details are huge news for spring, so play with tactile elements and embrace your maximalist side. Quartz Woman PINK Pink hues are off the scale this season with Rose Quartz leading as Pantone's Colour of the Year. From tones of blush that verge on nude through to rosier spring inspired shades. 2016 is the year to think pink but veer away from overly girly looks and keep sweet shades to strictly simple silhouettes. Shoulder Work SHOULDER The shoulder, the body part de rigueur this season. From Daks, Boss to Sonia Rykiel, designers revealed smouldering shoulders with modern cut away details, classic Bardot necklines and updated halter-neck dresses. Providing a breath of fresh air to the LBD, shoulder work dresses are an easy way to give a stylish nod to the new season. Kendall Jenner on the catwalk.
