Three Ways to Style...The Sophia Dress

We recently introduced you to the fabulous model, writer and inspirational voice of empowering women, Rebecca Pearson in our Inspired by... series. After finding out all about Rebecca, her inspirations and her refreshing take on life and careers, we challenged her to style one of our classic dresses from the Little Black Dress collection in three totally different ways. Read on to find out how Rebecca wears the LBD for all occasions and see her wear the Sophia dress beautifully... speechmarks-main

I went for the Sophia dress as it's everything I go for in clothing. It's a little bit old-school with its off-the-shoulder glamour and nipped-in waist, but I like the edge of the hem being shorter at the front (to show off my knobbly knees!). Also, it's black, which means it can be styled up or down in a variety of ways. Here's how I went for it...

Classic Glamour Such an easy dress to pair with some heels and bang! ...Effortless impact for weddings, prom or cocktails. Here I've worn a pair of old, sparkly Primark stilettos (go black for chic). Make-up was a cat-eye flick layered over a rose gold eye pencil and lashings of mascara, both from Pixi. I used to get so stressed about making the eyeliner perfectly symmetrical until I learned that the secret to a perfect cat eye is to accept that it will probably go a bit wrong, but that no one is analysing it as much as you are. In terms of hair, I like putting over onto one side for a 90s look. Credit: Theo Games Petrohilos Every Day This is the classic Pearson look. When in doubt, I shove on a pair of clompy boots and a big jacket with the sleeves rolled up. And red lips of course - Lady Danger from Mac is my ultimate shade. It's the masculine/feminine contrast I like best about wearing this outfit. The leather biker jacket is from a cool little vintage shop by Peckham Rye Station called Fatboy Peckham, it was a bargain at £20! I feel so confident stomping around in my DMs, and I like the fact that biker jackets have so many pockets that I don't have to carry round a handbag (I hate handbags!). When I walked out in this my boyfriend, Theo, said, "Well it's weird...but it works...I like it actually!" It's got a bit of a Wednesday Addams vibe, which is why I paired it with this Pixi lip gloss in a totally 90s shade. The shirt is People Tree - I always wear Fair Trade wherever possible. I'd wear this for a day at the office. If I worked in an office... speech-marks-Copy Credit: Theo Games Petrohilos Shop the Sophia dress from our exclusive Little Black Dress collection here.
