Cheryl Cole's HMH Couture dress - the interview

Since Little Black Dress discovered Newcastle beauty Cheryl Cole would be back on our screens for the next series of The X Factor, we couldn't stop thinking about all her glamorous gowns. And with this in mind, we spoke to Hanna Marie Hutchison, designer of LBD brand First and foremost, how were you discovered by Cheryl? I was developing my couture collection with a tailor in London, the same tailor was working on items for The X Factor contestants and back ground dancers. A stylist saw me working on my designs and liked them. She asked me to send two over to Cheryl Cole, so I did and she loved both designs! How did Cheryl choose the dress? We took two different styles to the fitting and Cheryl was shown a colour card of all the colours we have available. Cheryl went for a nude tone and the high neck Euterpe dress. I then made the gown with her measurements and the style has gone on to be a huge hit for HMH Couture. What is it about the dress that has made it so popular? The high neck and low cut out features create a lovely balance of sophistication and allure - elegance but with a twist! The knot feature at the back was a stunning feature too but unfortunately you don't see the back on television as Cheryl is only shot from the front. Designer Hanna Marie Hutchison What did Cheryl think of the final creation? The morning before she wore the gown, Cheryl told Radio 1 that the gown she would be wearing that night is the most comfortable evening gown ever! Euterpe and all of my dresses really are very comfortable - the fabric drapes on the body in a very flattering way. Some girls think you have to be stick thin to wear them but you don't! I can balance and add pleats where needed. What was it like seeing Cheryl in your creation? The weekend Cheryl wore the gown she gave me tickets to see her live performance. I was sat next to the other members of Girls Aloud!! She looked stunning in the dress - it really complimented her shape and she won a lot of the style battles that week against Danni Minogue! Do you have any plans to do anything with her for the new series? Let's wait and see! I have a gorgeous new line of elegant playsuits launching soon that I'm sure Cheryl would love.
