Keira Knightley stars as LBD legend Coco Chanel

Keira Knightley, the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance, is set to star as legendary fashion designer Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel in a short film to be released tomorrow (May 8th). Celebrating the brand's 100th anniversary, the mini-film Once Upon a Time... is set in 1913 in the French seaside town of Deauville, home of the first ever Chanel boutique. Chanel's Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld is even turning his hand to directing for the highly anticipated feature. Other stars making an appearance include French actress Clotilde Hesme who will play Coco's Aunt, Adrienne. In the early Chanel days, Adrienne and Coco's sister, Antoinette, would famously parade through the town in their chic Chanel creations, advertising the boutique. The film is perfectly timed for release just as the iconic label reveals their new Cruise 2014 collection in Singapore. And whilst very few of us are invited to the unveiling of both collection and film the good news is it will also be available to watch here after the premiere.
