GENERAL is a marketplace. What does that mean?

We sell dresses, shoes and accessories from a number of different brands from all over the world all under one roof at When you place an order with we will then notify the brands and they will ship the item out to you.

How do I browse your site?

If you know the name of the brand or product you are looking for, simply type it in in the search box on the top right of every page. If you are just browsing you can use the top navigation bar to narrow down your search by brand, product type or occasion. Once you’ve made this selection you can filter by price, colour and size to find the perfect product for you and your budget.

Can I sign up to your newsletter?

Yes! We just need your name and an email address and our newsletter on all things LBD (and some exclusive offers and discounts!) will be winging its way to your inbox every week. Sign up here

How do I use my discount code?

During the last stages of checking out, type in your discount code to the ‘Add Coupon’ box when prompted. Click ‘update bag’ and your discount will be applied.

Can I buy a gift voucher? don’t currently offer gift vouchers.

Is online shopping safe?

Little Black Dress allows you the option of using two of the leading payment gateways to make your purchase as safely and securely as possible.

Both Sage Pay and PayPal use data encryption technology to protect your details and neither will ever share your details with retailers.

Paypal allows you to store your credit card details safely in one place, therefore removing the need to enter your details into a number of different websites which may increase your chances of online fraud. PayPal has dedicated teams that work around the clock to protect your data and uses the most up to data anti fraud technology.

Sage Pay’s systems are scanned and audited regularly by one of the world’s leading Qualified Security Assessors (QSA). Sage Pay also provides all customers with fraud prevention tools that means if your card is ever compromised somewhere else their teams will prevent them using your details illegally on their own site.

Where’s my order?

Little Black Dress offers free delivery to anywhere in the UK. Your goods come directly to you from the retailers, so delivery times may vary. However, delivery is usually by First Class Signed For with Royal Mail, which takes two to three days.

What’s Little Black Dress’s returns policy?

Little Black Dress offers a standard 28-days returns policy on all our products*. You will receive a full refund so long as the product is unworn and is in perfect condition. Little Black Dress is an online marketplace and goods are shipped directly from the brands to you. Therefore, to make a return, follow the instructions you received with your goods. You will be sending the products back to the individual brand, not to Little Black Dress. Please note, it can take up two weeks for the return to be processed and the money to be refunded into your account.

 Do you ship abroad?

We accept any of the following cards and process all payments through PayPal or Sagepay.

When will my card be charged?

As soon as you place your order with the money will leave your account.


Can I cancel my order?

As soon as you place your order, the money will leave your account and our team will be getting in touch with the brand to get your product shipped out to you. If you decide to cancel your order on the day you placed it you can give us a call on 00 (44) 161 277 7046 where one of our team will let you know of the status of your order. If your product has not yet been shipped by the supplier, we can do a refund. If your goods are already on their way to you, you’ll need to wait until you receive it and follow the returns instructions enclosed. When the brand has notified us that the product has been returned, we will issue you a refund.

Can I amend my order?

We are unable to amend any part of your order or change the delivery or payment method once your order is complete.

The item I wanted is now out of stock. Will you get more in?

Do you deliver to work addresses?

We can deliver to your permanent residential address or your place of employment. If you want your delivery to reach you at work, you need to be confident that someone will be there to take receipt of the goods as the courier will deliver to the place not the person.

Do you deliver to PO Box addresses?

We do not currently deliver to PO Box addresses.

Do you share my details with third parties?

No, we don’t ever share the information you give us when placing an order at


What size am I?

We never want to send you something that doesn’t fit properly.

Because we are an online marketplace and sell products from brands all around the world, sizes can vary. To help you find the right size, you’ll find a UK size guide on each individual product. Be sure to read the product description too as it will give you fitting tips for trickier items.

How do I look after my product?

We try to include as much information about how to care for your products as we can but every brand uses different materials and techniques so this can vary. If you’re not sure how to look after your product, here are some handy hints for keeping it in tip-top condition. But if you’re still not sure, or are a little worried about damaging your items you can always give us a call and we’ll try to find out for you.

Always read the care label and washing instructions before washing your clothes.
Arrange your laundry into groups with similar wash care instructions and organise into whites, darks and colours.
The care label washing temperature is the highest permitted temperature. But if you are unsure, always wash at a lower temperature rather than higher.
Turn garment inside out before washing.

Do not use fabric detergents which contain bleach.
Do not tumble dry garment unless indicated on the care label.
Do not iron prints, trims or embellishments.
Do not leave garments with white and contrast coloured panels soaking for prolonged periods.
Garments with metal trims should not be left to soak.

We recommend treating suede with an appropriate protector before wear.
A suede brush will help to keep the nap raised & the suede looking new.
If your shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper and dry naturally, away from a direct heat source..
If they get dirty, let them dry and remove the excess dirt with a clean bush or cloth.
For heeled products, check top pieces (heel tips) regularly & when they start to wear down take them to a good shoe repair shop and have them replaced to avoid slipping or causing further damage to your shoes.
