The 23-year-old Do it like a Dude singer made a dramatic entrance to the star-studded ceremony in Glasgow at this week's Mobo Awards in a full-length black lace dress, gold jewellery and vampy make-up. The transparent gown caused quite a stir on the red carpet with sheer black panels being the only thing covering the starlet's modesty. But Jessie J is not the first celeb to brave this racy lacy look; recently Lady Gaga was spotted in a transparent black lace ensemble, complete with quirky hooded lace cape. And we mustn't forget Abby Clancy's fumble with fetish fashion in her body-con see-through Emanuel Ungaro lace number at the GQ Men of the Year Awards last month. In comparison, Jessie's lace maxi is quite modest! If you want to work the lace trend (but perhaps leave a little more to the imagination than the A-list), try a black mini dress with lace arms like this one from Reiss, or keep lacing subtle with details around the waist and bust as seen at Karen Millen. Designers like Preen and Alberta Ferretti are getting lace so right this season with their delicate creations. As for high street brands, think Ted Baker for slinky, seductive pieces like Jessie J's, and Oasis for more traditional shapes with chic lacy inserts.
