The best dressed at the MTV VMA and Emmy awards
This weekend has not only seen one red carpet filled with glossy made up A-listers, but two. First up, Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards in California saw the music world turn out in their best for a memorable night and Beyonce in particular took this one step further, donning not one, but two fabulous gowns; one for the press room and one for the red carpet, essential when you’re an A-lister you know. And both newly single Jennifer Lopez and Rita Ora stepped out in revealing numbers to show their ex’s just what they’re missing.
We also saw a very unfortunate wardrobe malfunction from Nikki Minaj, who showed a little more than she might have liked after squeezing into an LBD a size too small. Causing a slightly awkward moment on stage, Nicki had to hold the front of her dress together for the entire performance with Jessie J and Ariana Grande – take this as a life lesson to always buy a dress that fits!
But for a slightly more upmarket affair, the small screen actors had their Oscars moment too as we saw a whole host of our favourite television stars attend the Emmys just one day later in California, Los Angeles. The more refined bunch donned a remarkably less revealing set of ensembles with a prominent display of nude and red dresses dominating the red-carpet. TV bombshell Sofia Vergara stole the show in a figure hugging little white number, while Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery once again captured her infamous red-carpet elegance to perfection.
