Red Carpet Season 2019: Dresses to Wear Right Now

Red Carpet Season 2019: Dresses to Wear Right Now

Red carpet fans get ready for a real treat! We’re kicking off the awards season with a spotlight on the Golden Globes. It maybe dark and gloomy outside, but January sees the start of all things bright and beautiful. Read the blog for a quick look at some of the red carpet dresses set to dominate 2019’s best dressed list.

Red Carpet Moments to Watch

Having begun in 1944, this year’s ceremony marked its 76th celebration, and with nominations including Lady Gaga, Nicole Kidman, Emily Blunt, Julia Roberts and Emma Stone, as well as Bradley Cooper, Timothée Chalamet and Donald Glover – the Golden Globes red carpet was definitely one to watch.

Being one of the biggest dates on the Hollywood calendar, the glamorous gowns (and the odd dress alternative) over the years have often garnered just as much attention as the awards themselves. From Julia Roberts breaking boundaries wearing an oversized Armani suit in 1990, to Angelina Jolie’s glitzy number in 1999, right up to Emma Stone’s starry 2017 Valentino gown.

2019 trends include ruffles, bare shoulders and plunging neck lines – and we just can’t get enough. These will be perfect if you’re heading for prom or to a charity ball.

Red Carpet Goddess: Lady Gaga – Train Envy

A Star is Born may not have notched the best drama award, but we simply love Lady Gaga’s gown – although we’re still uncertain of the exact hue, is it blue with a touch of lilac? Whatever the colour, we have complete train envy – and the ruffles are a big go-to for 2019 trend setters.

Try our Dynasty Royal maxi dress for a style steal if you fancy a train aka Lady Gaga.

We love the ruffles – try these three ruffle effect dresses for a 2019 take on this feminine trend.

For red ruffles try the Goddiva frilled off the shoulder maxi dress in red; Or what about this fabulous Adian Mattox black low cocktail dress?

We think Julia Roberts looked amazing in her jumpsuit creation at the Golden Globes 2019. And her natural beauty shone bright with flawless make up accentuating her clear complexion and famous starry-eyed look. Jumpsuits are also a clear winner in January – perfectly practical in every way to deal with weather and transitional wardrobe dilemmas.

Try our Adrianna Papell collection of jumpsuits for a style steal on Julia Roberts

Or, opt for Anne Hathaway’s style with a leopard skin vibe for an animistic approach to the new year? Jess Wright has a leopard version which is just making us growl with excitement. . .

We love Emily Blunt’s lacey vibe and this will also be a great wedding guest dress. Try our Little Mistress range for a similar romantic look. Also available in a grey colour theme

Green with Envy – Red Carpet 2019

How about Catherine Zeta Jones’s vibe – emerald green is fast becoming a clear trend for 2019.

Try our Emerald look with this Goddiva fishtail maxi dress with pleating detail:

We also have a complete head to toe emerald vibe with purse and earrings to add a touch of green envy.

Ageless Beauty looks – as we’ve already raved, we’re loving Julia Roberts. Try our Code Beautiful collection of products for lash defining glamour perfect for layering and creating that timeless vibe. The lip plumper is also a must for those luscious lips – not only is it conditioning but is also Vegan friendly.

And finally, the winner of our best dressed for the Golden Globes 2019 is. . .

We adore Idris Elba’s new flame Sabrina Dhowre’s belted black ballgown – we think it’s really hot in a totally feminine floral way. Try our Angel Forever brand for fabulous belted ballgowns to recreate the Miss Vancouver look.
