The Emmys - A spectacle of fashion

The Emmys, dating back to 1949, are a spectacular affair with glorious sparkle and razzamatazz. This year's awards are the talk of the world - mainly for all the wrong reasons when the Kardashians created a collective giggle describing themselves as real people, creating real, unscripted television.

Kim, 38, started by saying: "Our family knows first hand how truly compelling television comes from real people, just being themselves." Before Kendall could even say her bit, an audible laugh could be heard around the auditorium. The 23-year-old said as the laughter continued: "Telling their stories, unfiltered and unscripted."

But we're not here to rehash gossip and twitter tittle tattle. We have more serious business to contend with. The Dresses. And let's face it, the Kardashians didn't fail to stun in the wardrobe department.

We're loving Kim's black dress. She's bang on trend with her heavy chains creating an almost grunge vibe to the elegant gown. And Kendall's large rose petals caused a gasp of appreciation in the Team LBD HQ today. The fishtail maxi dress really shows off her hourglass figure to perfection. Try similar styles in our fishtail dresses collection.

Games of Thrones - Best Drama

Despite the character Bran being missing from the stage line up in Los Angeles on Sunday night, the cast were seen tiptoeing across the stage in an array of black tie outfits and stunning maxi dresses. Plunging necklines, satin and ruffles were the trends we can pick out as the female stars donned lush and lavish red carpet dresses to collect their Emmy award for best drama.

Jodie - Killing Eve Wows at The Emmys 2019

We simply can't get enough of Jodie Comer. Her Killing Eve appearances wearing eccletic fashion will be among the best watched British TV of the year. Those unnerving moments wouldn't be the same if Jodie hadn't worn those princess style over-the-top gowns in stark contrast to her violent character traits. The Emmys 2019 gave Jodie a chance to really go to town on her outfit - suprisingly she opted for a sleek evening dress in white. An angelic look which was simple, chic and uncluttered. Try our Honor Gold range of dresses for a similar vibe.

So, in summing up another successful Emmys, long designer dresses dominated the dress code. We are seeing ultra ladylike cuts coming through this season as celebrities opt for feminine silhouettes and a repeat of the ruffle drama. Think big, OTT princess gowns this season if you're headed for a ball or glitzy Christmas party. Think eighties one shoulder designs, choose metallics or a more sleek, clean line such as Jodie Comer's maxi dress.
