The classic Audrey Hepburn LBD got the Zooey Deschanel treatment this week at the premiere for up and coming comedy, Our Idiot Brother in which the American screen sensation will be starring alongside funny man, Paul Judd. Zooey, best known for her role in indie favourite, 500 Days Of Summer, rolled up to the red carpet in an avant-garde extravaganza of monochromatic ruffles which perfectly typifies the Moschino A/W 11 runway. With the colour-blocking trend going from strength to strength and the predominantly black and white nature of the Autumn/Winter 2011 colour palette, the latest Moschino line is touching all the right spots for this season. The Italian collection pays homage, whether by intention or otherwise, to its fellow fashion capital with an undeniable nod towards after-dark, Parisian glamour. Tight tailoring and figure-hugging lines mould a slinky silhouette that wouldn't look a stitch out of place on the set of a 1960s French film set. Ruffles are a luxurious way to glamourise a simple dress such as the base garment of this design and Harry Potter star, Emma Watson joins Zooey in the ever-increasing fan club. A strategically placed hip adornment creates a flattering line, reminiscent of the 1940s aesthetic although we aren't sure about the collar embellishment as it masks a slender, elegant neck. On anyone else this dress could easily be a miss, but Zooey's quirky style means that she carries it off.
