ImPRESS nails by Broadway (who we have a fab competition with at the moment here!) works with world-renowned nail technicians such as Trisha Lomax, Joanna Webb and Jenni Draper who between them have worked with countless celebrities, photographers and have been featured in our favourite high-end glossies. Jenni Draper is the owner of The Beauty Lounge and was the winner of the 2011 Professional Beauty Nail Professional Award. Her celebrity clients include Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon, Sadie Frost and Lily Cole and she has worked with Sass and Bide, Matthew Williamson and Luella at LFW. Jenni’s work has also been featured in advertising campaigns with Burberry, Olay and as you know Nicole Scherzinger for ImPRESS press-on nails- so she knows her stuff when it comes to nails! Team LBD met up with the nail-guru herself, Jenni Draper to find out what this season's most savvy nail styles are and how to accessorise our Christmas party LBDs... What's so great about these new press-on nails? ImPRESS by Broadway is the brand new press-on polish that gives that convincing, gel manicure look in a matter of seconds. What's more, they are easily removed so don't damage your natural nails. Longer styles are becoming more fashionable, and if your nails aren't in the best shape, Kiss Full Cover Active Oval nails, provide a smooth base for perfectly groomed nails. And what are your top nail styles to work with the little black dress? If you're going for something more edgy, customise your nails with crackle polish for that grunge-glam look. The 'Stiletto' nail is making a come back, and with a slick red polish, it screams 'power'. Or, if you want a slightly chicer take on your LBD, you can never go wrong with a pristine French manicure; if you don't have time to visit the salon, check out Kiss Everlasting French Petitie Nail Kit, which has a thinner white tip for a more convincing, salon look. What would you say are the must-have nail styles this season? It's is all about having fun with your nails. Bright colours and experimenting with nail art is key to adding a little sunshine to your life (even if it's raining outside!). I love the imPRESS by Broadway Estatic Cling and Totally Busted fresh and fruity shades, as well as the funky Vamp It Up and Love struck patterned styles. As one of the top nail technicians in the world and go-to nail artist for the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, can you tell Team LBD your top 5 expert tips? It goes without saying that my line of work requires me to have great looking nails, but I'm often pushed for time so I find the easiest way to get my nails looking great are the following: 1. Invest in a good file, and ALWAYS file in the same direction- never 'back and forth' as this breaks the nail. 2. Buffing your nails will smooth out any ridges or cracks that may prevent your polish looking super slick. 3. Don't ignore the importance of cuticle oil and hand cream- it's the easiest way to give yourself a little pampering! 4. Push back your cuticles so your nails look longer and instantly more elegant- this is always the giveaway between a professional manicure and a rushed application on the bus! 5. A base coat and top coat will help your polish last longer and prevent cracks. Simple, but it works. Who is your favourite little black dress icon? Of course Nicole Scherzinger has been someone who has caught my eye recently- she's been wearing a lot of 'rock chic' outfits during her tour, and I really loved the imPRESS nails she wore on last year's American Idol. Keep your eyes peeled this year for Nicole's favourite nail looks on UK X Factor! What does the little black dress mean to you? A little black dress is the perfect canvas for your chosen style: it can work for you whether you're celebrating your birthday or going for an interview. It's an iconic and essential part of one's wardrobe and I've definitely got a few well-worn pieces! Don't forget you can still enter our ImPRESS competition for the chance to win a gorgeous set of press-on nails as well as party-perfect eyelashes!
