After a January of recuperating from December’s relentless party antics we caught up with our industry insider, Fashion Editor of OK! Online, Hershey Pascual. And it seems just as we would have loved to do, she’s been taking January slow and getting her body back into a healthy state… After a toxic end of year social calendar, I’ve spent most of January on a committed detox with my focus on the saying: “Start as you mean to go on.” I eased into 2015 on a spiritual and healthy path for personal excellence, in all areas of life, but you have to begin somewhere — so I tried the “12 Days” Cleanse Chris James Mind Body, (which cost £120 from ChrisJamesCleanse.com, Space.NK, and Liberty). After meeting yogi and health guru Chris James, I was mesmerised by his stories of Indian adventures, from working with fabrics and textiles to studying yoga in the foothills of the Himalayas, his pursuit of understanding nutrition and his miraculous recovery from a paralytic state that was aided by his yoga and meditation techniques. He was quite simply a fascinating man who wisely said to me: “We are not just what we eat, we are what we can absorb and assimilate.” So it makes sense that he came up with a kit to share his wisdom with us all and, after trying it, it was clear why Made In Chelsea stars Millie Mackintosh and Rosie Fortescue are fans. The kit consists of specially selected supplements, exotic bath salts and a book of vegan recipes that help aid you to feel healthy, clear-headed and your body cleansed, stronger and energised. It’s exactly how I wanted to start the new year and of course it was important I could get in shape to get into my fabulous new Audrey Dress from the Little Black Dress Collection that I plan to wear with my brand new Jimmy Choo black clutch bag from the up-and-coming collection at www.CherryEdit.com. They have great luxury designer handbag sales so it’s worth having a look. By the middle of the course I didn’t feel like hitting the gym or going for my usual daily run simply because it was too hard to do so with the little energy I had. However by the last 3 days I suddenly felt a wave of vitality and I felt amazing. After accomplishing the 12 day kit I rewarded myself with a winter sun retreat at The Beachhouse in Goa. The purpose was to continue my meditation and yoga practice as well as encourage my new healthy lifestyle in warmer climes of course. It was an intimate experience and although I didn't know anyone at the resort at the start of the trip, there was such a strong sense of family and community that after a few days I felt so at ease with the people around me. This was probably because I felt we shared a like-minded goal - to embark on our own individual personal quest to find and maintain peace and contentment with the way we looked and felt. It’s so easy to stay for 2 weeks at The Beachouse because the results speak for itself. After being on a 7 day juice fast followed by a 7 day Ayurvedic Indian detox I lost 6 pounds and my body fat decreased by 3%. You can focus on one programme or mix it up by choosing from various packages such as weight management, Ayurvedic Indian detox or juice fasting. All of the packages include daily Ayurvedic massages, monitored diet plans, supplements, yoga and meditation.
