Trend Highlight: Metallic Floral Burnout
December 21, 2016
We've been noticing the metallic trend
taking over the press recently, from the catwalk and the red carpet, to the high street stores. Who says florals have to be pretty and pink? We want to toughen up our looks by adding a flash of metallic
to our wardrobe!
Florence, Eliza and Claudia chose to sport the sheeny floral fabric recently, each mixing it up by wearing a different dress silhouette and styling it up with different accessories
. We love the different textures that make up the fabric, and the hint of sheer in the skirt. We think this is the perfect frock to rock on New Year's Eve
, because what better way is there to welcome in the New Year than in a shimmering floral dress?
On The Runway
We've been spotting this trend on the catwalk, too. We love Gigi in Fendi's SS17 show, but we're not quite brave enough to go that
sheer! The contrasting textures and bold contrast of silver against the black seem to have been picked up on the high street, with a number of stores offering their own, more affordable, take on the trend. Although we do desparetly want to look like a thousand silver flowers have gently landed on our bodies, forming the perfect dress, we don't think we'd quite be able to afford the craftmanship of Ralph and Russo.
In The Stores
This fabric seems to be all over the high-street (and high-end) stores this season! We are so pleased that Alesha Dixon has brought out her own metallic floral dress. You can get your hands on Alesha's Sheer Floral Prom dress here
. Alesha likes to style it with a chunky choker
, statement earrings
and a metallic shoe

are more up your street, or you prefer to make a subtle statement with all-black
