How to Wear Summer Brights

Following a few seasons dominated by minimal hues, we can confidently say that bright shades are back. The trick to wearing them? Start with classic silhouettes and small prints then progress to bolder patterns and top-to-toe colour blocking - making it personal by adding your own glamorous twist. Here's our guide to wearing summer brights. Sure, bright colours for summer may be about as ground-breaking a concept as florals, but, for S/S15, nothing encapsulated the mood and feel of the season more. From Paris to New York, the collections were full of colourful bright options and on the streets outside the shows, ways to wear them looked equally inspiring. From Burberry and Chanel to Diane Von Furstenberg and Dior, designers are having a true affection with the bright palettes; take a look at some of Team LBD's favourite looks: From plush purples to ravishing reds, celebrities have been trying them out too. One shade in particular that has taken a huge stride this season is pink - once associated with Barbie with highly girly connotations, now a luxurious high fashion shade that is ready to stylishly see you through summer's most formal events. A-list celebrities in particular have taken major advantage of this colour transformation, especially at this year's Tony Award event. Model-of-the-moment Kendall Jenner wore a timeless long-sleeved bodycon dress in an almost neon shade, this look provides just the right amount of colour in a simple yet seductive way. For something a little more extravagant, take inspiration from the beautiful Ruth Wilson who wore a punch of fuchsia in a glamorous fishtail style dress. Brights can seem intimidating, but when put together right with shimmering jewels and matching accessories, you have yourself a statement look that is most definitely appropriate for this summer's most special occasions.
