The best celebrity dresses at the BAFTAs

Renowned for the biggest and best showcasing of British actors and fashion designers during awards season the BAFTAs did not disappoint for 2013. This year the sheer and sexy trend played a vital role in Team LBD's best dressed BAFTA moments whilst sleek black full-length evening gowns battled it out with this season's colour pop hues. But which made our list..? LADY IN LACE: AMY ADAMS Get Amy's look here: Aftershock London Deshon Lace Evening Gown, Was ¬£251, Now ¬£177.50 Amy Adams was the height of classic Hollywood glamour in this black lace maxi dress last night. The long sleeves and full skirt kept the look demure, whilst lace detail created a sexy edge; an alluring combination she paired with old school accessories and styling. To copy Amy's glamorous look Team LBD suggest this luscious lace evening gown. SEXY SHEER LACE SLEEVES: CAROLINE FLACK Get Caroline's look here: Bernshaw Acacia Dress, ¬£299 Amy wasn't the only one working the transparent trend on the red carpet yesterday with TV presenter Caroline Flack making simple sexy in this black slip dress with sheer sleeves. With embellished cuffs and her signature collar this simple style is a seriously cool update on a classic. MATERNITY CHIC: EDITH BOWMAN Get Edith's look here: Bernshaw Karolina Dress, Was ¬£399, Now ¬£200 Edith Bowmen was the woman in black at the BAFTAs, wrapping her considerable baby bump in sumptuous black silk. To stop the look becoming too matronly, Edith kept her hair ruffled and eyes dark so maintaining her DJ credentials. For similar maternity chic we recommend for the equally elegant, long-sleeved Karolina dress by designer to the stars, Bernshaw. SILVER FOX: HELEN MIRREN Get Helen's look here: Elliot Claire Grey Empire Waistline Dress, ¬£235 Hitchcock star Helen Mirren is growing old gracefully and yet is intent on retaining her sense of fun, something that was clear as she debuted her bubble-gum pink pixie crop. This new do offset a stunning pale grey ensemble that was both age and weather appropriate. With a high neck and sheer sleeves, this dove grey maxi dress was the epitome of elegance, a look you can do in this red carpet-worthy Elliot Claire dress. BEAUTIFUL IN BLUE: JESSICA CHASTAIN Get Jess' look here: Elliot Claire Deluxe Blue Single Strap Dress, ¬£235 Jessica Chastain impressed us yet again this awards' season in another eye-popping shade. Her royal blue Roland Mouret evening dress clung to her curves and complemented her red mane, while the architectural detail kept the look contemporary. To match Jessica's glow we suggest (another!) Elliot Claire number. If in doubt, an Elliot Claire design will see you through any special occasion! LADY IN RED: LAURA BAILEY Get Laura's style here: Gorgeous Couture Evita Maxi Dress, ¬£238 In what has been mostly a monochrome collection of red carpet looks this year, Laura Bailey's ruby dress shone like a beacon of summer days to come. When working such a dazzling shade, Laura was right to keep things simple with a chic pony-tail and clutch, while her green earrings accented the look perfectly. To do bold and simple like Laura, Team LBD have found the perfect choice in this bestselling Gorgeous Couture maxi dress. RACY LACY NUMBER: THANDIE NEWTON Get Thandie's style here: Lipstick Boutique Leila Dress in Black, ¬£75 The usually simple and chic Thandie Newton mixed things up for the 2013 BAFTAs in this sexy Señorita lace dress. With strappy heels and red lips the actress totally committed to the look while tight curls were an unusual but welcome choice in a world of ironed-out tresses. For such a racy look we would go for this Leila dress which has just the right amount of lace and leg. Did you catch our GRAMMY round up? Read it here.
