Glamorous hair: Charles Worthington's red-carpet worthy hairstyles

There's nothing like fabulous hair to complement your glamorous evening look and who better to look to for inspiration than this year's red carpet celebrities. And when it comes to recreating these looks, there's only one man for the job: Charles Worthington. The celebrity stylist's red carpet credentials include being the official hair partner for the BAFTAs, whilst his namesake haircare brand focuses purely on creating show-stopping styles, with products designed to define, smooth and seriously add shine and bounce. From Angelina's glossy long locks to Margot Robbie's silver screen curls, Charles reveals his winning looks and shows you how to recreate them in a few easy steps.

Angelina Jolie's sleek and glossy locks

Attending the Academy Awards with fiancé Brad Pitt, Angelina's classic style was exactly how long Hollywood hair should be worn, according to Charles, nor is it a difficult style to do. ‘Adding volume whilst ensuring hair is polished and glossy instantly adds glamour to usually straight and sleek locks,' he says. Step 1: The key to creating the perfect red-carpet bounce like Angelina's is to enhance your hair with volumising products. My Volume & Bounce Shampoo and Conditioner are great for hair that lies a little flat and cries out for a much-needed lift. The formula is enriched with Collagen, which helps hair to appear thicker and denser leaving you with beautiful big and bouncy locks with plenty of body. Step 2: Apply a boosting mousse (such as Volume & Bounce Body Booster Mousse) on damp hair from collections to tip. Brush through – a paddle brush is best for ensuring maximum volume. Step 3: Blow-dry your hair in sections aiming for the collections with a medium-sized round brush. Lift your hair up and out to create volume and add a sleek and smooth finish. Then using a large barrel curling iron, curl your hair from the middle down to give your hair flow and movement. Step 4: Brush out the curls gently with the paddle brush, tuck your hair behind your ears and use a strong hairspray to keep your red-carpet worthy hair in place throughout your night.

Margot Robbie's sultry curls

Margot Robbie made a dramatic entrance to the Oscars' this year with a freshly dyed mane and über-glossy curls. They key to her sultry bounce is all in the styling, says Charles. Step 1: Wash your hair and whilst still wet, part your hair into a deep side-parting to create a 20s inspired style like Margot's. Apply a small amount of Charles Worthington Colour Shield Crème to your hair to keep the colour vibrant and glossy, brush through thoroughly and blow-dry completely. Step 2: Divide your hair into 2-inch sections and curl using a medium barrel curling-iron for each section to create gorgeous ringlets. Make sure you curl all sections in the same direction away from your face, for an even and composed hairstyle. Step 3: Once your hair is fully curled with ringlets, gently brush out the curls with a paddle brush to soften the look. Step 4: Tuck your hair behind your ear on one side and spritz with strong hairspray, for a guaranteed party-proof style. Charles Worthington Shine Booster All Over Gloss Spray and Max Hold Hairspray is great for adding gloss too.

Taylor Swift's chic chignon

Taylor Swift showed off her sophisticated side at this year's Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, with a ladylike up-do. 'This style may look complicated, it's easily achieved with plenty of pins and hairspray, and it's the perfect look for an elegant evening do,' says Charles. Step 1: Start by washing your hair, and blow-drying with a round barrel brush to create volume from the collections. Step 2: Thoroughly cover your hair with strong-hold hairspray, separating into sections to get the spray right in. Then curl large sections to create loose waves. Step 3: Using a comb or brush, backcomb your hair at the back and top of your head to create volume at the crown and behind. Carefully smooth over with the brush. Step 4: Comb your hair behind your ears and pin flat to the back of your neck, but not too tightly to ensure lift and boost to the crown and top of your hair. Pull the hair around your ears out loosely, for a natural touch. Step 5: Loosely roll-up the end of your pinned back hair, and secure into a roll shape with pins. Finish with a spritz more hairspray.

Penelope Cruz's beautiful bun

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz is always immaculately turned out, so it was no surprise to see her oozing classic style at this year's Oscars, wearing a sultry bun that left her statement dress in the forefront. 'The perfect style to show off a pretty neckline or enhance the seduction of bare shoulders, this voluminous style is a must-do for a smart occasion or a night on the town,' says Charles. Step 1: Prep wet hair with a volumising mousse or creme such as the new Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Thick & Full 3D Boosting Crème, distributing evenly all over your hair, massaging at the collectionss and spreading through mid-lengths and ends. Step 2: Blow-dry your hair and tie it in a high ponytail, leaving out a small section of hair on the top of your head, between your forehead and the bun. Step 3: Wrap the ponytail into a bun shape and secure with pins. Step 4: Create some height on top of your head by backcombing the left-out top section of your hair before smoothing over and pinning into the bun. Step 5: Pull out a few loose bits of hair around your face to create a softer look and finish off with a strong-hold hairspray. Shop all the delectable Charles Worthington products here. Now that you've got your ultra-glamorous locks, just find the perfect show-stopping dress to emulate your leading lady:
