Diana dresses: Princess of Wales' dresses go on sale

On 19th March ten of Diana, Princess for Wales' most iconic dresses will be going to auction. The dresses were acquired at a charity sale the Princess herself held, just a few months before her death in August 1997 and will now be up for grabs to anyone with an estimated £20,0000 to £200,000 spare. The auction will include dresses by some of the Princess' favourite designers, including Catherine Walker, Bruce Oldfield and Team LBD's very own designer, Zandra Rhodes and many pieces, which were worn for portraits taken by high profile photographers such as Mario Testino and Lord Snowdon. Team LBD's favourite of the decadent collection includes the long dark velvet gown that Diana wore when she danced with all singing, all dancing star John Travolta at the White House in the 80s. Who'd have thought, Princess Diana and Danny Zucko!? We're also entranced by a floor-length turquoise sequinned Catherine Walker number, and a pink silk Mughal-inspired lavishly embroidered evening gown and matching bolero, made for a State visit to India by the same designer.
