Fashion ed, Lucy Wood wears LittleBlackDress.co.uk for LFW
Who better to be our girl on the ground at London Fashion Week than Look Magazine's Fashion News Editor, Lucy Wood? Here she exclusively reveals her LFW x LBD diary; which catwalk shows she went to, the new season styles she saw and of course the gorgeous dresses from LittleBlackDress.co.uk she wore...
DAY ONE
PVC shorts, billowing maxi dresses and plenty of colour kicked off a spectacular first day of London Fashion Week.
Bora Aksu, Felder Felder, J.JS Lee, Eudon Choi and Jasper Conran launched the spring/summer 2014 London show schedule, keeping the fash pack entertained despite the typical British weather - yep, we had to dodge the rain all day!
Plucking a flippy, fluted dress, the Ruby Ray Fit and Flare Dress in Berry from LittleBlackDress.co.uk, for fashion week I always keep things pretty yet practical. The longer hem line is FROW-perfect as it doesn't ride up too high when I'm perched on the show benches. Plus a non-crease crepe fabric keeps everything looking pristine all day long.
The colour provides a huge hit of warm to counteract a washed out face come the 6pm show - Jasper Conran - and I was definitely looking tired by then!
Finished with a heavy shoe to add a bit of personality, these 'ode to Balenciaga' boots kept my toes dry all day. Until tomorrow...
DAY TWO
With a nip in the air it was all about skinny jeans and a statement Geeks & Stitches blazer for day two of London Fashion Week.
Kick starting the day with Holly Fulton's print-tastic show I certainly felt like I fit in with the theme in my bright, arty jacket from LittleBlackDress.co.uk! Then it was onto Julien Macdonald at Goldsmiths' Hall where the glam and sparkle triggered a huge standing ovation.
At Markus Lupfer's presentation I was transported to a 1990s teenage girls bedroom as models showed off his trademark easy-to-wear tops and skirts as they went about lounging around a bed and desk.
Rounding up the day at Longchamp's new store launch, champagne flowed as Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof hit the decks playing tune after tune. When Mick Jagger and Kate Moss arrived, unsurprisingly, there was a stampede. It was time to hang up my heels come midnight...
DAY THREE
Sunday morning at London Fashion Week is all about the Mulberry show.
Not only do they go al out on the best breakfast spread - sandwiches, scones and sweet treats from the Claridges team - there's always a heap of celebrity faces to keep you entertained.
Cara Delevingne opened the show, and there was even a pooch on the runway. So cute. Obviously I want every bag going. Had better start saving!
Rocking my Emma Louise London Elephant Shif Dress (which is in the sale now!) - the softest silk dress ever - I headed to Temperly and then to Topshop's spectacular show. I added a little colour clashing cool with LBD's Astrid and Miyu green and yellow statement necklace. When Jourdan Dunn hit the catwalk in a deep blue billowing maxi, I could almost feel the sunshine of spring/summer 2014. We've got a wait yet before we can wear those though...
Closing the day with Vivienne Westwood, Mary Katrantzou and Jonathan Saunders, it's hard to believe we're half way through Fashion Week already!
DAY FOUR
The penultimate day of Fashion Week and my feet are pretty tired by now. There's only one thing for it - trainers - and I love that the dress I chose is so perfect for casual to cocktails style.
This LittleBlackDress.co.uk Silence Beyond Syllables Printed Silk Dress complements my patterned trainers perfectly. I added a quilt-stitch jumper on top to add to the sporty, relaxed vibe and a chunky chain necklace by Astrid and Miyu at LBD.
A pretty hectic day running to see Christopher Kane, Erdem, Burberry and Giles; while the talk of the day is all about Burberry's embellished pastel lace skirts and dresses. Just beautiful.
Feeling like I've dropped a dress size over the shows due to lack of lunches and dinners, it was slippers on, feet up and supper in front of the TV for me come 9pm. Hey, at least I've managed to swerve the Fashion Week flu, for now!
DAY FIVE
Phew, I made it to day five! It was all about comfort but with a cool, AW13 edge today so I donned LittleBlackDress.co.uk's urbancode Fit and Flare Leather Dress in Black, £161.25 (in the sale!) and teamed with a red jumper and Astrid and Miyu jewellery, also from LBD.
Love Lucy xx
