Flagship Fashion Store Little Black Dress Opens in Bolton

Something big has arrived. Our new flagship store is now open with appointments being taken for Prom 2026.

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our first high street boutique in the UK and have chosen our hometown as the UK HQ for Little Black Dress.

It’s a dream come true for Bolton owners Mark and Gayle Evans.

Expect to see luxury brands for prom, Cinderella ballgowns for black tie events and eveningwear mixed in with ultra classic black dresses and wedding guest outfits.

A Dream Come True Opening Store

It’s been a long time in the making for the local couple who have seen the online brand grow from its birth in 2010 as one of the UK’s first dropship fashion businesses.

In what seems like full circle, Littleblackdress.co.uk is investing in more traditional high street retail to establish a more boutique and intimate feel. The brand has seen a rollercoaster ride in fashion retail over the last 15 years with Covid hitting hard in 2020.

“There really is nothing more powerful than a little black dress and many of our styles in the store will be black classic cocktail dresses for all occasions,” Mark, whose background is as a former director of the Shop Direct Group explains.

A New Era for New Boutique

Mark Evans, CEO, said: “It may seem strange for many online retailers to branch out onto the high street, especially at a time of uncertainty in the economy. But we strongly believe in our vision of creating a long-lasting legacy for Little Black Dress. A new era begins as we continue to invest in the fashion industry. The LBD is a vintage treasure and a modern basic which is both chic and stylish. We’re taking it into the next generation.”

Why Bolton?

“We want to give something back to the local community and an opportunity arose we felt we couldn’t miss,” Gayle added. “Bolton has a proud industrial and hard-working ethic and we want to rebuild some of that heritage.”

Drop in and Browse

Passersby will be encouraged to drop in and browse new collections including curated party ranges. Expect glittering sequins and plush velvets as the Christmas season gets underway.

The family-run firm is also on the look out for expanding its team, so keep your eyes peeled for future job opportunities.

And finally, Mark added: We are continuing to run our online store which is growing from strength to strength. The Bolton flagship shop will be an extension of our vision. It’s been a rocky ride for all retail over the last 15 years and many brands are falling by the wayside. We are now a successful, small independent business and we hope local people will get behind this opportunity to shop local.

“We have often had requests from customers to try on our dresses and now those in the North-West can travel easily to our store to try on must-wanted special occasion pieces.

“We are excited with the new possibilities the store gives us. Who knows, it maybe the first of many stores across the UK,” Mark quipped.

Opening times for the store: 11am-6pm Monday, Tuesday, Friday. Late night opening Thursday until 7pm. Saturday 10.30am - 6pm. Sundays 11am - 4pm. Closed Wednesdays.
