It's the time of year when quite frankly all we can think about is what the A-listers will be wearing on the most important awards red carpet of them all, the Oscars. So we did a little fantasising with luxury evening wear brand Gorgeous Couture and their celebrity stylist Niki Proctor to envision what this year's nominees would be wearing; if they too like Millie Mackintosh, Amanda Holden, Tess Daly and pretty much the entire cast of TOWIE and MIC had Niki on speed dial! Scroll down to see the nominees and read the insider interview with Niki.
Felicity Jones
"Felicity is a breath of fresh air on the red carpet and has that quintessential English quirkiness going on that sets her apart from the crowd. As such I've a feeling she could push the envelope with a cool stand-out jumpsuit like our brand new Elouise. We'd style it up with a belt and a messy up-do." Shop the Elouise Jumpsuit in Ivory here.
Marion Cotillard
"Marion's effortless French style leans to the structured and avant-garde on occasion but I'd take a slightly softer approach with this beautiful neckline to show off her lovely shoulders. Oxblood naturally adds drama but in a subtle, non-flashy way that perfectly sums up
mode a la français!" Shop the Esme Maxi Dress in Oxblood here.
Rosamund Pike
"Rosamund looks beautiful in a pop of yellow on the red carpet and this one-shoulder piece suits her usual style. Yellow made an impact at the Golden Globes as a standout contender for colour of the red carpet season, and Rosamund has the fashion flair to carry it off with nonchalance." Shop the Bailey Maxi Dress in Yellow here.
Julianne Moore
"Adding that touch of vintage glamour to Julianne's look never fails to impress on the red carpet. I've chosen the magenta shade as it's fashion forward (it will be even stronger for AW15 so a key colour!) and it contrasts beautifully with her auburn hair. Gold accessories and you're done." Meryl Streep
"Meryl could easily pull off one of our jumpsuits – maybe with a tux jacket adding a cool edge to her look – she can really pull off androgyny and structure with her exquisite bone structure and this look would deliver." Shop the Harper Jumpsuit in Ivory here.
So now you've seen how Niki would style the A-list, find out what the celebrity stylist, creative consultant and general media wiz usually gets upto...
What's it like working with celebrities?
Celebs are really just like everyone else – honestly. They have hang-ups, they don't like certain areas of their body, they are scared of trying something new – my job is to maximise their favourite bits, have them feel comfortable and to push the boundary a little bit to get them to wow! Gorgeous Couture dresses always secures column inches and delivers that impact.
Who's the biggest celeb you've dressed?
Girls Aloud at the height of their fame was a phenomenal experience. We were often dressing all 5 of them for red carpets and even their tours, so waking up and seeing 5 dresses on the front page of a newspaper in the morning was a "pinch yourself” moment never to be forgotten - It was so much fun!
We've recently dressed Millie Mackintosh, Amanda Holden, Tess Daly, Denise van Outen, Christine Bleakley, stars from the soaps and I'm always on speed-dial for the TOWIE and MIC girls. Jessica, Sam and Billie love our jumpsuits in particular!

How do you choose what items are right for the collection? Do you have to put your own tastes aside?
I've worked with Gorgeous Couture since the beginning so it's a very intuitive process now. We look at what's happening out on the red carpets, the international catwalks, what people are wearing out and about – but mainly we think about what we want to wear ourselves. We're a big team of mainly women so we start with ourselves and what we want to wear on a big night out, to a dinner date, to a wedding, on holiday – then we make sure some dresses can be worn with bras, with Spanx etc. So the collection evolves with us and our lives. We design for women right now. Women who are confident, know what they want, love fashion and want to wear the latest trends but at affordable price points.
What's the most glamorous event or opportunity you've been involved in through your work?
Wining and dining the fashion mags in London is always a real treat so I get to try all the brilliant new restaurants. As a foodie, I'm in heaven! My fave restaurant is Dishoom in Shoreditch which was introduced to me through Julia May Morgan from Woman and Home magazine! It's ace!! Other than that I was involved in the running of Cyprus Fashion Week for a few years and also did some TV presenting interviewing designers which was fab!
