Little Black Dress Sponsors Graduate Fashion Week
It's been an exciting week for Little Black Dress as we sponsored the 25th edition of Graduate Fashion Week! The highly-prestigious event has launched the careers of some of the biggest designers of our time, including Stella McCartney and Giles Deacon, and just named Dame Vivienne Westwood and Nick Knight OBE as lifetime patrons to add to the previously-appointed Victoria Beckham and Christopher Bailey, who won the first ever Graduate Fashion Week Gold Award.
We sponsored the Fashion Photography Award, with our CEO Mark Evans selecting the highly-talented Erika Bowes as the deserving winner. Erika started out as a blogger in her early teens and is now the Creative Director of Sukeban, an online platform for aspiring female creatives across the world. Her minimalist, romantic style of photography has resulted in an Instagram following of over 112,000.
Our very own Alesha Dixon also made an appearance at Graduate Fashion Week on Wednesday, judging the Creative Catwalk award. Team LBD member Alesha picked Hazel Symons as the winner, who then went on to win the biggest prize of Graduate Fashion Week on the final night, the Christopher Bailey Gold Award! Hazel's collection paid homage to her collectionss, with art school-inspired stiff paper fabric shirts, prints featuring stitch and cable knit illustrations, overcoats with exposed seams, and 'boltable' seams which, rather than being sewn, allowed wears to affix various pieces from the collection to each other.
Alesha attended with her boyfriend Azuka Ononye and sat front row to take in all the action. While there she caught up with various fashion luminaries in attendance, including Hilary Alexander OBE.
She wore her very own jumpsuit from her exclusive collection for Little Black Dress, available here.
