Nicole v Tulisa: Battle of the black dresses

Last night it wasn't just the backstage drama (if looks could kill when Gary called Tulisa 'fag ash breath'!) that had us glued to the X Factor. Team LBD were just as gripped by the show's traditional 'dress off' between female judges, Nicole Scherzinger and Tulisa Contostavlos. And last night was the toughest call yet as both ladies donned dramatic black dresses for the results show. First up was Nicole who opted for a long strapless black dress which was bothy demure with its cascading waterfall of a black skirt which made the most of the ex-Pussycat Doll's long legs in this season's favourite dip-hem style. The bustier perfectly accentuated Nicole's petite but hourglass frame and the yellow print helped to break up her all-black look. Teamed with geometric black stilettos, simple earrings and rings Nicole toned down her theatrical evening dress look very well. Next up was Tulisa who in recent weeks has seriously overhauled her more risque wardrobe. On Saturday the singer chose a full-length black bandeau dress and Hollywood hair which gave her a grown-up, sophisticated look. But Sunday was the night of the LBD and Tulisa made it count with a 50's style black midi dress which featured a flash of flesh through the sheer neckline and sweetheart shaped bodice. The intricate lace detailing gave Tulisa's look a Gothic glam feel and the gold open-toe shoes, chunky embellished cuff bracelet and pretty pink lips made her X Factor outfit very wearable on and off stage.
