Sex and the City: New film, new actress and a lot of new dresses!

At Team LBD, we are excited at the news that the relatively unknown actress AnnaSophia Robb has been confirmed as Sex and the City's young Carrie Bradshaw.

The 18 year old, who has previously starred in Soul Surfer and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will take her next step in Carrie's Manolo Blahnik's for the forthcoming SATC prequel, The Carrie Diaries. The SATC girls are well known for flaunting their fabulous wardrobes; apparently over 300 looks were created for the first Sex and the City movie, which means about two costume changes every minute! So one thing's for sure- Robb will certainly need to get used to a dress change (or ten) for the role, which follows the young Carrie as she graduates from high school and starts her life in the super stylish city. We don't know about you, but we're hoping for '80s colour explosions and very big hair! What we do know is that you can expect the best in mini dresses, ruched style disco dresses and a sprinkling of prom dresses in traditional Bradshaw style. Hopefully we'll even spy a little black dress (like the one Robb donned for the Epic Awards last year above) too! Shortly after her new role was announced AnnaSophia tweeted that she was "so excited". We would be too! We're certainly getting "Carried" away just by the prospect of seeing that fabulous wardrobe alone!
