Samantha Cameron recently topped Vanity Fair's 2015 International Best Dressed List, pipping the likes of Taylor Swift, Amal Clooney and Rihanna to the post. We couldn't be prouder of Mrs Cameron, flying the flag for fabulous British personal style. Seen at various key annual events in the fashion calendar such as London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards, wearing numerous powerhouse designers such as Phillip Lim, Alexander McQueen, Erdem and Roksanda Ilincic, the PM's beautiful spouse has got her fashion knowledge and style down to a perfectly refined 'T'. Known for continuously showing strong support for British design talent, we can see why Vanity Fair admires Samantha Cameron's conservative charm.
To celebrate this achievement, Team LBD has put together Samantha's top 5 fashion moments:
1. 2015
Sam significantly opted for a conservative blue on the day of the electoral results this May. Famously a fan of a synched-in waist created with a slim belt, she further defines her hourglass silhouette in this statement Preen by Thornton Bregazzi midi dress. It's in both a bold print and colour yet pairing it with simple black courts and the belt has her set to challenge the cameras.
Lipstick Boutique Jessie Dress in Blue £55, Fiorelli Esme White Enamel Rose Gold Hoop Earrings £15, Mifani Content Suede Block Heel in Black £98.95
2. 2011
Although criticised for not wearing a hat or even a fascinator on the day by royal style critics, we absolutely love this jade Burberry dress Samantha wore to attend the royal wedding. The clashing bright orange accents defy so many fashion rules yet simultaneously work so well. The vibrant jewel colours, timeless shape and style are a wedding winner.
Kate Fearnley Laura Dress in Green £79, Aftershock London Lydia Pointed High Heels in Nude and Black £50.45, Fiorelli Zaira Teal and Cream Multi Layer Beaded Collar Necklace £25
3. 2013
As you may already know, Team LBD is a big fan of lace dresses. So this lace maxi dress worn by Mrs Cameron to the Save the Children's Secret Winter Gala really hit the spot. The slimline shape is so flattering and the long lace sleeves add a demure touch.
The LBD Sofia Dress £79, Virgos Lounge Noir Shoe £95, Alexi London Mini Hollow Circle Earrings in Silver £30
4. 2012
Pictured here on the front row at Erdem's SS13 show, Samantha socialises with the fashion elite in a show-stopping print dress by Michael Van Der Ham. Showing us all how to do a tastefully bold print with a longer midi hemline and her trusted black belt and signature simple heels.
Honor Gold Adrianna Blue Midi Dress £62, Virgos Lounge Noir Shoe £95, Fiorelli Tahlia Rose Plate and Silver Hoop Earrings £20
5. 2011
Finally, we can't do a top five without featuring a true LBD. Mrs Cameron wore this velvet Holly Fulton number with an accompanying necklace to the British Fashion Awards, but what really brought this piece to life were her killer Charlotte Olympia heels, a designer now known for her signature statement shoes. Sam proves just how important heels are for completing an outfit; opt for a pop of colour and you'll attract all the attention.
LBD Gemma Dress in Black £45, Mifani Heat Suede Shoe in Red £74, Adele Marie Applique Statement Necklace £54
When planning your outfit for a special occasion make like Samantha and team printed dresses with simple shoes and accessories or opt for a simple dress and turn up the attention with a statement necklace; it's an award-winning theory!
