The icon behind the dress: Cheryl

Britain's sweetheart and once part of the most successful girl band in the UK, Newcastle-born singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini could be considered one of the most influential and iconic style icons of her generation. Rocketing to stardom just 13 years ago in 2002, Cheryl's success on the TV show Popstars: The Rivals changed her life forever. But amongst the hit albums and the turbulent love life, Cheryl has made waves with her ultra-glamorous and often edgy style. So it was an easy decision to design The LBD Cheryl Dress, £85, in her honour for our eponymously labelled Little Black Dress Collection; 30 dresses each inspired by Team LBDs favourite style icons. Constantly on our style radar since her early days with Girls Aloud, the feisty northern lass has a knack for continually updating her look and experimenting with style. Not surprisingly she has managed to top FHM's list for the '100 Sexiest Women in the World' not once but twice in 2009 after the release of her number one 'Fight for This Love' and also again in 2010! So it's no surprise her stunning looks and incredible figure coupled with her eye for the unique, that her red-carpet appearances garner nothing less than breath-taking results. But it's not just the red carpet that has allowed us to gawp at her style, her role as judge on X Factor, both in 2008 and last year too, have showcased a multitude of quirky and glamorous outfits.
