This week gave rise to one of the biggest award ceremonies in the history of television, as the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards 2013 took place in Los Angeles, sparking a buzz at Team LBD HQ. Aside from holding our breaths in excitement as we waited to see if our favourite box-set stars were about to become the next Emmy award holders, there was only thing that we just couldn't wait to see and that of course was the fabulous A-list occasion fashion. And we were pleased to find floor-length ball gowns, sprinklings of sequins, lavish embellishments and jaw-dropping evening dresses galore. Here Team LBD have selected their pick of the best and the dresses you need to recreate them straight from LittleBlackDress.co.uk. FIT FOR A BRIDE: CLAIRE DANES Get the look: Aftershock London Sinora Dress, £356 Claire Danes bagged herself an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in Homeland, gracefully accepting her award in a stunning, embellished cream evening dress. The actress looked glowing as the gown cascaded elegantly down from her waistline, creating a pretty silhouette-like shape. If it was down to us, we’d have given an extra award solely for her dress! With her hair styled in a sleek and shiny bob, Ms. Danes oozed sophistication, and you can too with the Aftershock London Sinora Dress (£356). This vintage-inspired ball gown comes complete with a hand-made, sequin adorned bodice and trailing lace skirt, bound to make everyone stop and stare for all the right reasons. Who says bridal chic is just for one special day? BEAUTIFUL IN BLACK: CHRISTINA HENDRICKS Get the look: Elliot Claire Black Beaded Embellishment Evening Dress, £180 Christina Hendricks sure knows how to make a red carpet statement. The Mad Men star stepped out in a fail-proof, classic long black dress which accentuated her flawless hourglass frame, making us all slightly green-eyed here at Team LBD. The figure-hugging style boasted a pretty fishtail-cut and delicate lace sleeves that draped over her shoulders so perfectly. We didn't think it was possible to be any more envious, but of course Hendricks pushed all boundaries by wearing her locks in soft curls and sporting a pretty red lip to give that killer pout. If you wish to look as glamorous as Christina - let’s face it, who wouldn't? - slip into our Elliot Claire embellished evening dress (£180). The fine detailing of the neckline and soft satin-like finish is enough to complement any frame and will certainly get you noticed. LADY IN RED: KELLY OSBOURNE Get the look: Gorgeous Couture Amelia Maxi Dress in Red, £232 Rock royalty, Ms. Kelly O proved that red is the new black as she showed off in a stunning scarlet ball gown with a ravishing plunging neckline. Although dressed rather demurely, Kelly didn't fail to reveal her rock chick roots, with her signature lavender hair coiffed in a neat up-do. Finishing her red carpet look with a splash of red lipstick, the star exuded every ounce of A-list appeal. To recreate Kelly’s fiery ensemble at the click of a button, Team LBD have selected the perfect red dress by Gorgeous Couture. This floor-length, long sleeved number (£232) is ideal for ladies who don’t wish to reveal too much flesh, yet still want to achieve a sumptuously sexy look. The plunging neckline will show only a glimpse of skin, whilst the draping effect will fall flatteringly in all the right places. CLASSIC AND ELEGANT: SARAH SILVERMAN Get the look: Aftershock London Thane Bodycon Dress £105 You can never go wrong with a classic little black dress (biased, us?) and comedian, Sarah Silverman demonstrated this to a tee this week. Simple yet elegant were the words that sprung to mind as Sarah’s black body-con dress hugged her transformed curvaceous frame. A knee-length cut is the perfect style for a formal dress, giving you that ‘wow’ factor whilst retaining an air of elegance and charm. To steal Silverman’s style, the Aftershock London Thane body-con dress (£105) is the must-have LBD whether you’re rolling out the red carpet for a star-studded event or simply celebrating a family affair. No matter the occasion, this party dress will have you channelling your inner Audrey Hepburn and radiating A-list allure. BOLD IN BLUE: TINA FEY Get the look: Forever Unique Aki Dress £220 Despite an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction whilst on stage at the ceremony, Tina Fey looked a million dollars in a cobalt blue evening dress designed by Narciso Rodriguez. The dress displayed a halter-neck design and fishtail cut which boasted Fey’s immaculate figure. The star’s choice to stray from the popular red carpet colours, such as black and red proved to be a wise idea as she stood eye-catchingly in the bold blue ensemble. If you’re on the lookout for a figure-flattering gown, Team LBD have a solution and it’s in the form of the Forever Unique Aki dress (£220). The bright shade, column style and flared skirt will make you red carpet-ready, so get your name on the guest list because you’ll definitely look like an A-list star.
