See the latest AW19/20 trends from the catwalks of Paris and Milan and see how you can update your style with a little help from clever buys that are going to see you through the summer and beyond Christmas. . .
1. The Waist – Add belts to Dresses
It’s all about the striking power silhouette. Think wide shoulders and a nipped in waist. Invest in a great belt and add this to your favourite dress. An oversize dress is best and cinch it in at the waist. This even goes for coats and jumpsuits. Ensure your dress is midi length to maxi for the ultimate in impact.
See Dior at Paris. Try our maxi dresses for your choice whether you choose puff shoulders for drama or this Adrianna Papell dress and add a belt.
2. Jumpsuits – try for at least two in your wardrobe for versatility
Tommy Hilfiger recently showed us in Milan that Jumpsuits are definitely not old hat for AW19/20. Add a tailored jumpsuit to your arsenal, we’ve loads to choose from to buy now and wear throughout the party season beyond the New Year. Brights are to continue in the popularity stakes so choose a lime or burnt orange jumpsuit. Nudes and Tan are also on the list for AW19/20, so opt for more natural colours. Perhaps Khaki or brown for an on trend utilitarian vibe - perfect for all you comrades out there! This Gorgeous Couture jumpsuits is a must for now and the next season.

4. 90’s vibes – More A line and bias cut dresses
Of course, we’ve all seen a rise in the 80’s power dressing vibe. Even though this continues, the 90’s vibe is slowly creeping in. remember what goes around comes around. Think A-Line skirts and dresses cut against the bias falling below the knee in soft satins. Prada shows us how AW19/20 is going to have a distinct grunge vibe but with a twist of glamour. Try our Urban Touch
for a hint of this 90’s dress trend.
5. Let Lace In – Valentino Paris
Meanwhile, Valentino demonstrates that lace is not to be left behind. A popular fabric choice over the last few years, lace lives on you’ll be pleased to know. We’ve hundreds of lace dresses to choose from but we say opt for black, buy it now and wear on repeat for evermore. try our Lace and Beads dress
The bigger the better, as Balenciaga proves at the Paris show. Ruffles have even found their way into shoulders replacing shoulder pads and creating a striking feature. Givenchy is also all about the ruffles and evn pays homage to the humble Maxi Dress with long hemlines dominating their collection. Opt for dramatic shoulder ruffs such as Adrianna Papell’s little black dress
perfect for those special occasions and mirroring Givenchy’s fashion vibe.

7. Animal print – mix it up with clashing colours
Snake skin prints are hot for the autumn. And we’re loving this trend that doesn’t seem to want to go away. Many of the great designers have aired their collection in both Paris and Milan this summer showing an abundance of animal print. Whether it’s a favourite scarf, blouse, boot or bag, the trend for printed fabrics (not the real thing folks) is not going away. Try our Saint A snake skin satin party dress
which ticks all boxes with tiers and a 90’s vibe.
