Millie Mackintosh Talks Party Season

The Made in Chelsea star first launched her own label in 2014 and every season has been packed with party-worthy dresses including short dresses in luxe fabrics and the seasons most on trend silhouettes. This season is her strongest yet, from flattering drapes in wintry red, festive-ready embellishment and premium lace, styles from Millie's A/W collection are already selling out fast. Little Black Dress now stocks the brand new dresses collection by Millie Mackintosh so we took 5 to catch up with her and get some dress inspiration and style tips ahead of the party season… We adore all of the dresses from your new collection! How did you start your own clothing line? I have always loved fashion and, as cliché as that may sound, it's true. I wanted to launch a line of pieces that I could really see myself and my friend's wearing - my friends are my muses. I'm not only influenced by trends but by how a piece feels on and how it makes you feel. It needs to be comfortable but still with that fashion-forward edge. I love the boho, seventies look where you can dress things up or down by the accessories you choose. What were your influences and inspiration for your AW15 collection? It really does go beyond that; I really am influenced by so many different things. But they all come together in the final design and I'm really proud to see the final product online. I love the small details like a subtle cut-out, scooped back or a contrasting panel in a different fabric. Broderie anglaise, velvet and lace are all so pretty for A/W - texture and fabrics play a huge part in my designs. For all the upcoming festive parties, what's going to be your go-to dress? It's so hard to just pick one! All of my dresses can be worn in so many different ways and I don't want to make the others feel jealous by just picking one..! What are your top 3 tips for the most stylish Christmas party look? Feel confident in what you wear is my first tip and never be scared to be bold, after all that is what the festive season is all about - embellishment is perfect for that.
