Star of the Show: Dianne Kwok

Dianne Kwok is today celebrating as she scoops a major award - designing a couture dress for Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon.

"Dianne is certainly one to watch. I can't wait to wear the dress – it's amazing.” Alesha, a global ambassador of GFW, said.

Top Accolade

Dianne won the top accolade at the fashion 'Oscars', known across the world as Graduate Fashion Week.

An Incredible Honour

She said: "Even being shortlisted for the competition was an incredible honour, but to win is just amazing. I feel humble, but at the same time incredibly proud.

Star of the show with Revie and Jon Jourrou

Dianne created the winning piece in secret with Jon and Revie Jourrou. She showcased the dress in front of the glare of FROW and fashion media last month.

The husband and wife duo have been in the forefront of British fashion since the nineties.

Global Success

Their successful global brand, Sierra, has put them on the fashion map. And they exhibit at international fashion shows across the world. Amazingly, they have even worked with HRH Princess Diana and HRH Princess Katherine.

Their new collection has just been launched for Little Black Dress - exclusive with new lines to be added for AW17.

Revie said:

"Dianne's been wonderful to work with, listening and learning with great enthusiasm, we look forward to seeing her continued growth in the fashion world and wish her great success."

Dianne previously worked as a seamstress at Disneyland Hong Kong making fairy-tale garments. She found inspiration for the Little Black Dress competition from a Christmas trip to Europe – in particular Paris, Munich and Saltzburg.

Dianne - her Inspiration

"The structure of the buildings and the Christmas lights have been a great inspiration behind the black and yellow Alesha dress.”

Jon and Revie Jourrou, mentors to many Masters students, said: "Dianne came in with her wonderful creation, and it must be said, an excellent toile. She worked exceptionally hard and was not afraid to ask anything she did not understand."

Vital Movement

Dianne's challenge was to make the dress a functional wearable garment, especially for a singer/dancer like Alesha Dixon.

Dionne Dixon, from Little Black Dress, said: "Dianne is talented beyond her years - she has a very bright future ahead of her.

"I have worked with many fledgling designers over the years, but Dianne is something else. The dress she has created for Alesha is magnificent - a work of art in fact. Even Revie commented that it was like a couture dress.

Great Fit

"Dianne is single minded and has a strong vision for how the finished dress should look. "

Dionne has worked closely with Alesha and fellow designer Nicola Atkinson to create a celebrity collection exclusively for Little Black Dress.

Dianne Absolutely Nailed It

"Her research into Alesha's style was thorough and she absolutely nailed the kind of "stand out" piece that Alesha likes to go for, " Dionne added.
