6 Spring Dresses For A Wardrobe Refresh
British designers Emily Hill and Rachel O'Mahoney, the talent behind new start-up fashion brand Aloura, are on a mission to refresh their spring wardrobe.
And they have teamed with Little Black Dress to share their secrets on how to dress for spring.
Best friends Emily and Rachel love dresses. So much so, they started their own brand fresh from university.
"By the time I was 18, I knew I would run my own company. By 21, Rachel and I set up business after both qualifying with fashion degrees. It's been challenging but we've been fortunate enough to design dresses people like. " Emily, now 25 explained.
London Fashion Week
Emily and Rachel established the Aloura brand after studying fashion design at the London College of Fashion.
The girls first met on a foundation fashion course, picking up skills of the trade including pattern cutting, then went their separate ways. "The fashion degree course was so intense, we never had time for meeting up, just on birthdays and special occasions!”
Together they have worked for various international fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Celine, British Vogue and Mulberry; in addition to being involved in both Paris and London Fashion Weeks.
Elegant Dresses
After combining their business and design strategies, they identified a gap in the market - high quality, fitted and elegant evening wear dresses that appeal to the out-going, sophisticated and image-conscious woman.
Aloura joined the Little Black Dress family last summer.
"We're not people that design for trends, but rather we go for what women like to wear.”
