Katie Holmes flaunting one of her own designs at the premiere of Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Katie Holmes, successful actress, spouse of pint-sized thespian Tom Cruise, doting mother to the most stylish five year old this side of the solar system and partner in budding design houses, Holmes & Yang; was spotted wearing a slinky LBD from her A/W 11 collection at the premiere of Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark in New York this week.
Ms. Holmes partnered up with friend and designer, Jeanne Yang in 2009 to create a line of clothing that would fill a gaping gap in the industry that was crying out for luxurious, high-end basics.
The garments are each hand-stitched in the production base in Manhattan to tender to the fine tuned details, that fabricate much sought after extravagance. It doesn't get much more glamorous than a little black dress, handmade in the fashion state!
The most recent collection is inspired by the provocative styling of Charlie's Angels, with a nod towards power dressing (a look that is so on-trend this season), and was perfectly exemplified by the sleeveless LBD Katie wore to the event.
Midi dresses are whipping up a storm, ready to take the cooler seasons by storm, and Katie's knee-length ensemble is an elegantly feminine alternative to the restrictive pencil skirt favoured by the likes of Ciara and Julianne Moore.
A deep neckline accommodates for those of you who enjoy the midi trend but still like to flash a little flesh and you know what they say; if you've got it-flaunt it!
So if you're turned on by Katie's dress but turned off by the high-end prices then have a look at our more affordable, editor's choice to keep your knees cosy this up coming season.
