Julianne Moore raced to the top of the fashion stakes in this figure-flattering LBD during a television appearance this week

Actress and children's book author, Julianne Moore might have been the one racing around in a yellow rally car during her appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman this week, but we were the ones left in a spin after seeing her in this stunning number. Julianne was promoting her most recent film, Crazy Stupid Love in which she stars alongside Emma Stone and funnyman, Steve Carrell playing heartbreaker, Emily Weaver. She turned up to the studios sporting a figure-hugging black dress that contrasted beautifully against her alabaster complexion and fiery tresses. Hardly appropriate attire for burning rubber on the track with professional stunt driver, Tanner Foust but an ensemble that brings out the green-eyed monster in all of us, nonetheless! Julianne's calf-length, curve-caressing LBD had a distinct vintage pin-up aesthetic with its trend-savvy, precise tailoring and shoulder pads - one that Burlesque starlet, Dita Von Teese would be proud of. Traditional masculine tailoring and voluminous upper-bodies are the silhouettes that have been sashaying down runways recently. Julianne's dress is a more wearable take on this Spring 2011 trend. Ms. Moore teamed her glamorous LBD with a pair of fashion-forward gladiator stilettos that reached dizzying heights. We don't know how she managed tottering around in those towering T-bars all day but those platform peep toes are definitely worth suffering the inevitable blisters! If you want to bring out the vintage vixen in you, here are some fabulous LBDs that would make for a perfect recreation of Julianne's ravishing style.
