Meet Team LBD's new celebrity stylist!

She's the lady behind the looks of the best dressed in show business from Peaches Geldof and Fearne Cotton to Beyonce, the creator of TheCelebLook.com and now she's the brains behind the TOWIE girls' beauty. Team LBD is excited to present our fabulous new stylista, Karen Williams, who'll be sharing all her top style tips with us in her monthly blog, as well as being on-hand to to answer any of your burning fashion queries. Here we talk to Karen to find out just how she bagged that dream job and what goes on behind the scenes on the sets of our favourite shows. Look out for her first Daily Style blog post, out next week.

What's it like working with the TOWIE girls? You must have some funny stories!

When I first started working with the Essex girls, it took me a while at the fittings to get my head round the fact that they kept saying €˜Imagine what this outfit will look like when I'm 10 shades darker.' This was a whole new way of working for me!

With so many stars to style and trends to try, what does the simple little black dress mean to you?

Everyone needs to have a LBD as they are always a safe option and can be dressed up or down. My style is €˜less is more' so I always keep it simple and chic with the accessories.

Who is your LBD icon?

Victoria Beckham is my LBD idol; she's got this look nailed. My top LBD look that I've styled myself was Jessica Wright (above) for the NTAs in a full-length lace gown. She won best dressed of the night so I was feeling rather proud!

Who do you enjoy styling the most?

I have styled everyone from A-list celebrities including Beyonce and David Beckham to models and real people. I love styling people that I know can look great with some help, it's more rewarding than styling people that already look great.

What's your own style like?

My style is a cross between fashion-forward finds and classic pieces. I do like to be practical too. Depending on who I'm shooting depends on what I might wear on the day. I follow the latest trends but my wardrobe will not be dictated by them, I wear what works for me, not just because it's on trend.

Are you influenced by trends?

Of course, but first and foremost I dress my clients according to the brief that's been set, and always with what I think looks best for them, their personality and of course their body shape.

We have serious job-envy. How did you get in to styling?

Through hard, hard work! Whilst I was at Fashion College I applied to do work experience at 19 Magazine and did really well there. After college I did loads of work experience at different magazines including Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. My first proper job was at Clothes Show Magazine as the editor's assistant. I was there for six months and then left to be fashion and beauty assistant at a teen mag and it went on from there!

What are your favourite brands at Littleblackdress.co.uk?

. I love the length of the hemline, the choice of simple yet classic designs and the fact they do them for around £95 is very exciting for me. Gorgeous Couture are perfect for glamorous events. Their dresses are great quality for the price, and they are the best in the business for stealing red carpet styles.

What can Littleblackdress.co.uk readers expect from Karen Williams over the next couple of months?

I'm a guest judge on a new television programme with Holly Valance, which is out in October on Discovery Channel. We set contestants style challenges and critique them €“ it's a bit like a fashion X Factor really, haha! I'll also be sharing all the latest gossip and fashion tips in my monthly blog for Little Black Dress. And I'll be putting together some exciting shoots with my favourite frocks so keep your eyes peeled!

Give us a taster with your three top tips for this season's style?

1. Skater dresses. They're easy, great for day-to-night glamour and look great with heels.

2. Leopard print! I love animal print so I'll be incorporating it into as many red carpet looks as possible this party season.

3. Statement jewellery. Update the simplest of LBDs with layered up bracelets or this season's chunky, bejewelled chokers.
