Yves Saint Laurent - the film
If your ideal film includes fashion moguls and French subtitles, then the new French biopic, Yves Saint Laurent, based on the fashionable life of sartorial mastermind and styling genius Yves Saint Laurent is just for you. The iconic designer is renowned for his saying; "Fashions fade. Style is forever", which is somewhat of a mantra here at Little Black Dress as his quote epitomises the timeless LBD. Saint Laurent began influencing the fashion industry from a young age by becoming the head designer of the Dior fashion house at 21, and later went on to launch his own fashion house with Pierre Bergé, named Yves Saint Laurent.
The powerful designer is best known for introducing androgynous fashion into women's wardrobes in 1966, by designing the Le Smoking tuxedo suit, which offered women the chance to experiment with fashion and is still being replicated today. So if a film that requires concentrating on the beautiful clothes as well as the acting sounds up your street, then be sure to catch this stylish film, released March 21st 2014.
