Madonna celebrates her birthday in 1920s style

After our recent Queen of Pop style file (read the full story here), we've been eagerly anticipating how party girl Madonna would choose to celebrate her 56^th birthday, and we are pleased to report that it didn't disappoint. Held in a luxurious mansion in Cannes (of course), and with a Gatsby-esque roaring twenties theme, the party incorporated an array of eccentric ensembles, a star studded guest list (including her friend Kate Moss), and a giant letter M displayed in lights for the party-goers to pose with. Taking to Instagram on Sunday night to share her snaps from the event, we got a snippet in to how the other half live and a chance to ogle the star's spectacular 56-year-old toned physique and surprisingly tame outfit choice! Opting for a classic LBD (excellent choice if we do say so), the Like a Virgin singer was the epitome of glamour in her 1920's embellished flapper dress. Paired with over-the-top jewellery, a sparkling headband to complete her elegant waves, and flirtatious black stockings, the gorgeous singer is a true testament to the phrase ‘age is just a number'.

The star also took her birthday as an opportunity to make sure nobody forgot the years of her breathtaking beauty by posting a racy snap of herself on Instagram from the 1980s, in which she wears nothing but black lace gloves. Complete with the caption 'In my Birthday suit! The girl cant help it! Thanks for all your good wishes!!!!', this image, that has been likened to Marilyn Monroe, got an impressive 122,000 likes from Madge's 1.9 million adoring Instagram followers.
