Spotted: LBD's at David Koma Autumn/Winter 12

Creative and artistic, we present you with a man who really knows how to dress a woman; a contemporary master of the little black dress the name soon to be on everyone's lips is London-based fashion designer, David Koma. This Central Saint Martin's graduate is without a doubt one of London's most exciting emerging talents in the world of fashion, having already created a signature style of structured body-con dresses with interesting digital prints and quirky design details.

The designer's beautiful Spring/Summer 12 collection was made up of second-skin dresses detailed with stunning tribal-inspired prints in pretty pinks and acid yellows, but this time under the influence of ancestral portraits, Koma presented us with an Autumn/Winter collection packed full of fabulous LBD's. Peplums progressed through from Spring to Autumn but structured collars and long sheer sleeves pulled dresses through from Summer to Winter.

Koma shifted from his previous season's vivid body paint designs to a more reserved colour palette- little black dresses were a plenty, and we likes it! Black and cream held a particular focus, but clever use of fabric folds and patterns came in the form of bold blues and reds. Touches of fur and piped panels also helped create an element of seduction that had been taken away by the impossibly high necklines. Perhaps not his best catwalk moment to date but there were still some beautifully created designs with a more grown-up allure. Kylie Minogue, Beyonce and Cheryl Cole are already big fans of his label and if David Koma continues to design looks that are both directional and feminine, Team LBD predict that this designer is one to watch.
