Team LBD meets...Zoe & Morgan
The tremendous trio, Zoe, Morgan and Ruth launched their luxurious rock chick jewellery brand, Zoe & Morgan in 2008 and since then they have gone from strength to strength, following in the footsteps of their father, known as the Silver Fox. As children the three entrepreneurs would work in their father's shop, Moonbird, a place where the siblings watched the process of jewellery making from start to finish. Zoe and Morgan have now been seen on the likes of Alexa Chung and Lily Donaldson as well as featuring in an array of top fashion publications.
This week Zoe and Morgan have launched their hugely anticipated AW/12 collection at London Fashion Week, and boy was it worth the wait. Team LBD caught up with Ruth from Zoe and Morgan... What has been the highlight of your career? Having our jewellery worn by some of the most influential people in the industry right now (Alexa Chung, Garance Doré, Lily Donaldson) is a real endorsement; they go out and buy it even though they are being sent stuff from designers from all over the world. What is the inspiration behind the AW/12 collection? The AW/12 collection is called Peace Force. The idea behind the collection is to embody leaders. This season we have introduced bigger statement pieces; it's a collection to celebrate our ancestors, feel the tribalism within us and give it a glamorous edge. Little stars are delicately made from snakes and gypsy patterns, creating a unique Zoe and Morgan galaxy. What is your favourite piece from your Aw/12 collection? My personal favourite piece from the collection is the Issi necklace. What does the future hold for Zoe & Morgan? The future for our brand involves expansion. We are already available in 15 countries (and in the LBD Boutique online!) but we would love to expand more. Also like every other brand we want to raise brand awareness. Where do you go to seek artistic inspiration? We like to seek inspiration from all around the globe, from books to cultures to anything that fascinates us really. Most of our collections are eclectic fusions of antiques mixed with tribal pieces from all over the world. What does the LBD represent to you? The little black dress for me means sexy and sophisticated; it signifies a woman who knows herself and knows what she is doing. The LBD lady is confident being who she is.
